september 9

things that are dumb:
that guy i just saw who obviously put a motor on his fixed gear and started riding it around. that girl who was trying to walk a rather stubborn pot-bellied pig across the williamsburg bridge. the fact that someone in the nyc dot put the sign for the last turn for the bike path to the williamsburg bridge on the light poll rather than next to the stop light so it's almost impossible to see. those people who ride fixed gears without brakes who pedal on the downslope of the bridge towards a very short and busy intersection. gaping new york city potholes. squirrels.

things that are cool:
the modern, primary color design scheme of the new school where i just left a talk on plato's criticism of money-making. having a whole bunch of aunt laurie's veggie lasagna (still) to eat. having ridden across all three bridges that connect manhattan and brooklyn, which i did today. lcd soundsystem.

things that hurt:
my legs. i might have accidentally been working out with all this biking.

other things:
it looks like, unless another offer comes up, i am going to go work on a garlic farm in waterbury, vt next month. the farm was just started in earnest a couple years ago by a married couple with three college-aged kids and three black labs. i'll be staying in a room above their garage that has it's own bathroom. it also looks like this:
yeah, suck it.
also, people keep telling me to take more pictures. i was going to buy another disposable camera, but then someone handed me a coupon for a ten dollar tarot card reading, so i'mma do that instead. see you tomorrow with news of my future.
